But does the average driver know that? It is their perception that's important here. The Utah driver expected the car would not fly her into the mountain, so to speak. Naming, marketing context of self driving alongside this feature, a

I'm very tempted but I don't like how it looks. The I-pace looks great. Something between I-pace and Bolt would be fine. I expect VW to probably have plenty to offer, for example, in a few years.

Well it was Jan-Mar 2018, then Early 2018, and now Late 2018 for the standard battery. I was a day 1 reservation holder and watched the date keep slipping. I have little faith Late 2018 will be met at this point so I cancelled my reservatio

So do you feel like you don't need to take your eyes off the road any more than with traditional controls?

That is true, I'm getting old and have memory seats now. I'm 6'4" so this used to be more common for me before memory seats. Or in other people's cars.

How do you like the touchscreen? This has always been my biggest concern. I don't like non tactile controls, and it sounds like some fairly simple and common features like mirror adjustments are buried in menus. Taking eye off the road

Oh I'm just curious if the door thing is a fire safety concern. Nothing more. I won't buy a Tesla for a while at least but I follow the stock from an investment standpoint. You don't need to convince me of anything, just answ

That's a great point, though since I have kids I can only dream of a 2 door car for a while. It is technically possible but hard to schlep with them back there when they are little. So I think of it more as a safety scenario in my pres

It is the door handles I wonder about. They seem overcomplicated since they are electric servos I believe instead of typical mechanical handles. In a complete loss of power can the doors be opened? This is unclear to me. I don't own a

This doesn't account for the time itself to make a decision. Many middle managers in organizations are not trained or empowered to make decisions quickly. This has serious opportunity cost of time. Nimble organizations make fast decisi

Agreed, a dilution event like that seems more probable than bankruptcy. Though dilution has already been happening anyway. Just look at a graph of shares outstanding.

The Model T cost being so cheap due to supply and assembly line innovation is a big difference. The Model 3 at $49k starting price messes up the comparison. A shame the $35k version remains vaporware since that would be a more apt compariso

But didn't all auto manufacturers benefit from WW2? And didn't GM overtake Ford in market share well before WW2 contracts? If this is just timing, why did GM thrive when Hudson, Packard, Studebaker, and others did not?

They only have delays from their CEO's promises. Had he set expectations more realistically the stock might not be such a roller coaster and deposit holders would have had more accurate estimates. If you eliminate every time table Musk

This is incorrect. As soon as you place your deposit, you're in the queue. The queue tool didn't exist until roughly Summer 2017, but deposits started March 2016. There was a period of more than a year where everything was opaque.

The difference is the deposits Tesla accepted for the Model 3. Likely many deposits were placed based on the frequently-cited $35k price. I do not think deposits were taken for the models you mentioned.
