I find these anecdotes to be completely untrue. Women are often assumed to be less competent, and are often passed over during hiring for men of equal competence. I've seen some incredibly useless dudes sit back and rest and vest for m

I'm always so impressed by Postgres' features and performance. I am unfortunately not as impressed with Postgres' operational model. As a disclaimer, I'm not highly familiar with very many databases, but it seems like Po

Not to be rude, but if you googled his name you would have found all the information you could possibly need about why he’s considered important. For convenience here’s a link to his Wikipedia article: https://en.m.wikipedia.org&

Paul Graham is in desperate need of people in his life that tell him 'no'.

How do people still attack the straw man like this and reduce everything to “communism bad”?

This is such a strange post. Mr. Graham speaks in vague generalities, then finally hones in on a specific idea seemingly out of the blue: > For example, how can it be that a large number of reasonable, intelligent people worry about some

I use function keys extensively by touch. It's the most infuriating thing too when my hands drift while feeling for keys and I accidentally press a bunch of keys on the touchbar without realizing it. I used a macbook with a touchbar fo

I really don't think so, I've never heard of this company I didn't know what they sell. I had to poke around the website and read the comments here to realize. That's really the exact opposite of being up front.

If you're going to tear down a competitor's product and shill your own you should probably be up front about it.

I think you generally have the right sentiment, but some of these solutions are born out of necessity. Using containers at scale is really hard when you're trying to solve for optimal resource usage and resilience. These abstractions
