I don’t know if it’s that surprising that a massive corporation like Volkswagen has set up an account on a Mastodon server. Which is more likely (not to imply these are the only two options) : 1) They are going to close their Twitter accoun

This is the actual great thing about TikTok. My experience of TikTok seems very different to the majority of the commenters here, it’s like we’re on different platforms. Obviously we all like different things, and there is enough content t

Yeah, not saying it’s a perfect rule, just making the point that the parent’s 160-170bpm is lower than what I’d expect his max to be, using the rule of thumb a lot of people know. (And for what it’s worth, my max heart rate is the same when

Many non-life-long runners die from cancer too. The paper suggests you need to be at 80-85% max effort to get maximum benefit, the runners I know tend to concentrate on distance and the social aspect (so are running at an effort where they

It might sound stupid but work as hard as you can and note your maximum. I’m 180bpm-ish as a 45 year old male, I get that trying to cycle uphill as hard as I can and can sustain it for some minutes. They say the equation is 220bpm minus you

Small point, I took it that the parent was talking about his experience with Deliveroo, in contrast to the post about Deliveroo’s service being good.

Well, sort of - for the Veyron it’s 12 minutes of range, 15 minutes for tyres, at 250mph. But my point kinda remains, the relatively poor range isn’t mentioned. The range of the Nevera is 40% of a similarly performing car that is approachi

What they don’t say is that the battery lasts 5 minutes at maximum performance. (The car’s engine power is 1914bhp, which is about 1400kW, the car’s battery is 120kWh.)

As far as I know, you need a third person app. Strava will import from Apple Fitness, and you can export the .gpx from Strava. Before it did that, I used HealthFit ( https://apps.apple.com/us/app/healthfit/id1

That’s interesting. As a HP G2 owner, it really doesn’t come close to reading text on a desktop monitor for me. The combination of FoV and the resolution really isn’t there, I struggle reading text through it vs a 27” 1440p desktop monitor

I assume you’ve played Factorio? It would be interesting to play Factorio on a very small map, with some mechanic where you get to duplicate items you’ve managed to produce - the idea being that you are continuously tearing down older parts

I cycle, and when I see another cyclist up the road, I do all I can to catch them. If one overtakes me, I ask if I can try and keep their wheel. I’m sure some think something negative about it, but for me, it keeps my exercise interesting

I’ve held off getting a 40x0 waiting for this announcement, I don’t need the full 4090 power except for maybe MSFS, and there are variables to consider with the 4090. The 4080 looks more on par with today’s announcement. I am waiting for

In terms of fps/$ or fps/W perhaps, but the 4090 is still king for raw performance it seems. Can’t wait for Gamers Nexus’ and JayzTwoCents’ benchmarks.

Have there been any recent, good games of this genre? It seems to have reached a peak with Cookie Clicker, Kittens Game, A Dark Room and Universal Paperclips, others I've tried have been poor in comparison.

This link discusses how many cycles you have for your game per frame at 30fps and 60fps, and specifies how many cycles different functions, variable accesses, etc take, and methods of optimisation. Very interesting, I’ve been reading up on&
