There is certainly some risk, but I think there are a couple very strong reasons we can both co-exist. Although both involve large transformers, they are otherwise extremely different and tackle very different use cases. If you want a more

Perfectly ordinary for you and people in your peer group who share largely similar upbringings. I think this comment is (no offense intended towards you specifically) very indicative of how insulated and lacking in diversity tech is.

We did the math and decided to buy. For us, the break even point (including everything) was nine months of running 24/7.

We have a similar situation to yours and have had a very positive experience with Colovore. We also run at 100% utilization 24/7 and frequently use the cloud for burst before we go out and buy more cards/servers. Colovore was supe

This matches my experiences entirely. By running our own hardware (mix of Hetzner and colocation) we go from 20% of our revenue spent on server costs to less than 5%. Well worth any potential headaches, which are almost always overstated.

It's likely going to get flagged because you discard the entire article as junk science without even vaguely addressing the points of the article or study and reverting to the same tired, outdated, and in this case irrelevant to the ar

Most criminals are not using services like Luminati - they are using actual botnets made up of compromised computers. In that case, their bandwidth costs are far cheaper than yours.

In my experience, the biggest issue I run into is targeted botnet brute force attacks. In cases like these, someone loads up a huge botnet, a downloaded list of hacked usernames and passwords, and tries every single combination hoping to fi

Even if you knew the pattern, four random lowercase dictionary words (assuming a dictionary size of 50,000 words) would take longer to crack than a randomly generated 10 digit password with letters, numbers, and special characters. 50,000^4
