Priced into product development at this point... 1) whistleblowing unlikely because any employee that steps out of line can and will be destroyed 2) any media fuss will blow over in a few days 3) promotions and bonuses require outsize risks

It said they were told that's why they were being recorded, it didn't say it was true. It's very hard to be certain what's going on unless we install tools that monitor management. On the plus side studies show this woul

Strange. It might be a cultural difference. I value outputs. To worry about how work is done if it is done well is micro-management. Some people do want to pay money to have employees that look busy. I knew someone (in America it has to be

I always find these discussions pointless without more context. How old are you? $40 in 1979 prices is $130 now. And don't get me started on trying to define how American definitions of class have evolved in the last fifty years...

I don't have kids (although I might be insane), but apparently there's a thing called a "baby-sitter" you can deploy in situations like this and for considerably less than $130 per child.

Terminal 5 was fast and flawless (until the day it opened and the airline computer systems fell over). Then again, it is a giant metal shed. Now Crossrail, THAT'S something.

Theyre already doing that with the sponsored content section and some really worrying companies (eg Facebook). Individual contributions towards specific causes could very easily be capped if they were worried about distortion. In practice,
