The browser can not do push notifications when the device is locked. Which is kind of a core feature for IM.

Until you find out that the app isn't able to use the google notification service so it puts a persistent notification in your bar and uses more battery.

You can use fdroid which builds everything and signs it with their own keys.

Seems interesting. Wanted to give it a shot but it looks like they had no official docker containers and it wasn't packaged in the fedora repos. I noticed the I2P project does have a docker image and seems to do a similar thing. Do you

IPFS has the benefit that anyone can pin the content and then even the original author can not take it down.

Its the job of the mods to ensure that the users of their group follow the rules. This situation seems bullshit but in general I think its quite logical to ban "servers" if the mods do not uphold the rules.

My mobile internet provider actually did this for about a year after the New Zeeland shooting. Was quite annoying and I considered switching to another company because I quite enjoyed shitposting about bicycles on /t/

I have taken some pretty amazing photos on my phone. I always think "Damn, I wish I had my sony camera here for this" But I don't have it and without my phone I never would have captured the moment. Its incredible to have a h

Everything is improving I guess but there is very little relative investment in razors. They look different but arguably function worse than the original style double edge. Vacuum cleaners have had a bit of innovation but no one is really d

The point is not to test everything ever published, its that when you want to do X, you look for papers on X understanding that they are likely flawed but better than starting from scratch.

So on the same logic, if you had a more productive day you shouldn't expect to leave early. I'd say its fair to say your results are more important than time but it goes both ways.

No one will do it until it becomes painful enough to not do it. Killing support in all of the tools is the only way to make it happen.

They can get it working but they choose not to because they want to be the source for all software. On fedora I can see chrome in the gnome software app and it says the source is googles own servers.

Its chrome without the closed source bits. The syncing part was open source I guess but required an API key. I wonder if they could in theory just grab the key from chrome.

The difference is somewhat meaningless. It will be gone very soon regardless of what fedora does. Cutting it off early means they can time it with a release so people get the release notes rather than it just stopping working without having

They can choose to use chrome I guess. If you don't trust chrome, why would you trust google sync to save all of your data to their servers.

iOS devices can _run_ arbitrary code without being hacked. It just stops working 3 days after being compiled so its good enough for kids to develop on but not good enough to distribute.

Whether wayland is ready for you basically comes down to 2 questions: * Do you use a nvidia GPU * Do you need to screen share from electron or other x11 only applications (MS teams, etc) Its ready if you said no to both of those.
