I think the one you linked only simulates a single client, if I read it right? This one will simulate thousands of clients with different MAC addresses, allowing for DHCP infrastructure stress testing.

I didn't write this - just found it while troubleshooting DHCP issues and thought other folks might find it useful :)

Ha, I actually did the same, albeit after using a succession of disappointing Fitbits. In the end I realised that what I mainly cared about was having the time on my wrist, and I could leave everything else. So I ended up with the steel str

I like it! Demo bugs: - Clicking on the header of the static data table brings up an alert box saying 'testing' - Clicking Render Modal Matrix Modes brings up a modal that's too tall to see the close button (Chrome, Win11, sc

You're arguing past me. What I'm saying is that without paying, the Canon is a webcam: it's a camera that plugs in and gives your computer a video input. It may not be the best possible webcam that it can be, for sure. And pa

So, uh, has anybody noticed that the headline is false? You can use your Canon camera as a webcam without having to pay for it. It even says so in the last image in the article! You plug it in via USB and you get a webcam. It's just

It sounds like a good idea at first, but would people really care after the first few conversations? After all, the conversations are unlikely to be related to any of the gameplay, and even though you could drip feed worldbuilding to the pl

Overwatch was prototyped by making levels out of plain boxes, using character models ripped from a previous game, then iterating until the game mechanics were fun. Of course, it then received many layers of polish before it was launched, bu

There is, as far as I can tell, one dead end: if you run out of money near the start of the game and have exhausted your options for getting more, then you'll have to revert to an earlier save. It's not particularly easy to do tho

It's not a great UI, especially on mobile. Start by expanding the Search Dialogs section and type in a search term, then hit Search. Then click on one of the numeric results. Nothing will happen, but if you now expand the Build Convers

I love git stash, but to be fair, if you've just had Git do something unexpected to your files, I can completely understand why you would not then trust Git to keep your changes safe while you use more Git commands to get back into a s

100% agree with you on the keyboards. I had an X220, then a T490, and now I'm on an E16. The keyboard has gotten noticeably worse every time I've upgraded, sacrificing key travel and feel for flatness. It's such a shame - I w

Aha! For some reason I had it in my mind that early telephones were moving coil type, and the carbon mic came along later. You're absolutely correct - thanks for setting me right.

That's when turn-taking kicks in. A nice conversation might have multiple sections, and the person doing most of the talking can alternate between sections.

I was wondering how they managed such an impressive signal fan-out - I thought that telephones at that time were purely powered by acoustic energy moving the coil in the microphone. Turns out that the amplifying telephone repeater had just

Not necessarily. My GPU audibly sings in the KhZ range whenever it comes off idle, a long time before the fans actually start up. It could be electrical noise from the fan drivers and/or motor coils if they're running at low speed

I was playing Cities: Skylines on my old desktop PC a couple of years ago and the frame rate was really low. Windows was running sluggishly but mostly fine. I downloaded CpuZ to figure out what was going on with Skylines, and noticed that t
