I don't think that's an unreasonable preference (I work for Airbnb) and it's not for everyone. There is however, consequences, for hosts who do cancel on our guests last minute and we take those types of violations seriously

I think the comparison to Adwords is misleading about what this idea really is. This is just a self-serve and automated marketplace for billboard ads. Adwords is much more specific to the combination of targeting intent through search terms
