>Covid supply chain issues didn't help It would be nice to get to the bottom of these issues I keep hearing about. Yeah, COVID was/is a big thing but when it comes to feet on the ground, what's the impact? Not this much su

I'm thinking of resigning first thing. I took the Christmas break to mull it over and came to the conclusion that I'm not happy where I am anymore, even if it is comfortable and decent money. Once I'm settled into a new job I

Personally I draw the line at the Winograd Schema Challenge. When that's passed I will be truly convinced.

Please, let's stop being silly and start being realistic. We aren't going to meet the lofty emissions targets or pull GHGs from the atmosphere. It's just not viable. Even if we halted emissions completely today it wouldn'

We tend to be extremely overconfident in our knowledge and it usually takes a few disasters for new technologies to stabilise such that we don't regularly hurt or kill people. It's one reason why we should be extremely cautious in

It's artificial but not intelligent. AI doesn't exist. Alexa is a glorified text-to-speech and NLP engine.

Not so sure about that. JITs can be fast, faster than C or Rust in some circumstances. Besides, the code was a trainwreck.
