Rode NT-1 Mic, some interface, some stand. I positioned it coming above my monitor and I never think about it anymore. Too bad my voice sounds terrible, that is harder to fix

People are flooding robinhood competitors
33.
by bytematic 6y ago
Informing your customers is one thing. Blocking them in "their" own interest is a ridiculous overstep. We make platforms and tools to empower users, not to force them down whatever path we deem best for them.

What a complete spit in the face of their users. If you work at robinhood, take a look at your company values and know that they are willing to wipe out any of those during investor pressure.

I just do it for the low latency. It's incredible how quick requests are made and answered.

Super happy for him. This is one of the best parts about programming, how easy it is to share and interop things. That is beautiful

Almost every time (in the last couple years) I've seen pay-over-time it is no extra cost to the customer. It's either $100 or 5 installments of $20.

That seems to be what everyone was wondering about when they laid off a large portion of their web teams

Never order just 1 thing if you are getting delivery. That will never make sense for delivery of any item. Same applies for grocery.

Interesting, I've never seen food markups. That might be specific to a restaurant/location/app

These are in almost every S1. "in the event of the end-of-the-world we may have issues generating revenue"

That's what I've always thought as well, but the financials look to be pretty good here. The CEO states their main differentiator is their culture so I wonder what the actual landscape looks like

Red/green are pretty common status colors. What would you suggest, perhaps different shapes?

They won because it was free to make servers. All the other competitors you had to purchase from some hosting solution or run it on a server, not a lot of gamers can do this

Technology will catch up. Also inputs will be pre-processed and rendered so latency can be minimized.

I just want typescript for ruby. That simple
53.
by bytematic 6y ago
I've been using typescript for a few years now and to be honest I almost never rely on the compilation errors. I just use the built in Jetbrains IDE completion, autosuggestion, and navigation to make it work.

Why does the compile debug information get printed to the standard error area?

What is the point of spending time and money to send these students home?

I bought board game simulator recently to play with my friends. Many of the most popular games were just too intimidating to play, this would have really helped us haha

Am I the only one who enjoys my commute? To be fair, I bike or take the bus in the winter, but I listen to audiobooks, podcasts, music, and get a good amount of exercise.

Yeah, I concentrate a lot better at an office. I hate being in my home all day every day. The little distractions are what make me love a job, some of my best memories are the random interactions and happenings with my coworkers

I'm super curious how you scale these Minecraft servers. I have a 60$ google cloud instance and it can barely handle 3 players with a few mods without lagging a few times per hour.
