I don't know for others but both Chrome and Firefox hide the placeholder only when the input value is non empty. So it do not disappear when to give focus to the field.

I see your numerous FUD posts about Ruby, Javascript & others since a few weeks now, and I'm curious: What is your magical langage / technology that never had any security holes, nor any misconception ?

It's not the role of OpenBSD or any other distribution to provide those gems. I don't know anyone that rely on system packaging to get gems or eggs or CPAN module. And it would be silly because you can't run an arbitrary ruby/python app wit

Linus is often rude, but AFAIK not gratuitously, but I may have missed some of his public messages. But even if it's the case, he is rude with the guys who work with him, his "captains" that he knows since a long time. He do not bash a rand

Did you looked at the source ? For example for the pidigits bench: The PHP version use the GM extension http://shootout.alioth.debian.org/u64q/program.php?test=pidi... And Ruby do it in pure Ruby http://shootout.alioth.debian.org/u64q/pr

It's sad to see how the FUD around the GPL is widespread. It remind me a few months ago the launch of meteor.js. I heard so much people saying that it was "not usable commercially"... And the worse is that the same people have MongoDB in pr

When you do a benchmark you usually run the code more than once. It's milliseconds. The real question is how many time the code loop. But anyway the interesting number is how many times it's slower compared to an equivalent code.

For me this in idiomatic ruby would be: original_style = element.style.only('top', 'left', 'width', 'height') Or if you do not want to rely on ActiveSupport: original_style = Hash[%w(top left width height).map{ |p| [p, element.st
