I think websites should be designed to work in all modern browsers, but IE is a deprecated/dead browser that takes extra work to support. Dropping support for IE is the right thing to do at this point.

for some reason I can never get the media creation tool to work, it always downloads the ISO and then fails to write it to the USB with some ridiculously vague error code. rufus on the other hand always works without issue

maybe my memory is fuzzy, but I don't have a single fond memory of IE6. I remember it being a revelation how much better firefox was when I first switched back in the day.

depends on the laptop. macbooks are among the worst machines for running linux and require much more tinkering than normal.

Because the DIY market is reletively small. Intel still has huge sway with OEM's (and mindshare with consumers). It's difficult for AMD to overcome that even with a better product

Your information is very out of date. The old synaptics driver worked as you describe (implementing kinetic scrolling at the driver level) Libinput (which all modern distros switched to ages ago) does NOT implement kinetic scrolling at the

what do you mean? AMD integrated graphics are supported by the same open source driver... IIRC, anything that's GCN 1.2 or newer is supported (APU or dedicated)

its rendering engine hasn't been completely re-written though. They've been re-writing parts of it piece by piece.
