yeah pop is just using the gnome desktop (with custom theming, a few extensions, and an improved set of default keyboard shortcuts. They have collaborated with elementary in a few areas though. Instead of gnome software, they have Pop Shop,

For me, firefox's touchpad scrolling is much smoother than chromium's on linux. Also, firefox implements kinetic touchpad scrolling on linux, whereas chromium still does not (this is a huge missing feature IMO)

by itself it won't, but they've been working on various optimizations to shorten startup time. A few ms isn't much by itself, but when you add up a bunch of small optimizations like this one, it can add up to be a significant

google refuses to support this on desktop linux though, it requires a patched chromium build. The only reason vaapi support is there at all is because their chromeOS uses it.

I found that setting app.normandy.first_run to true and then restarting firefox triggers the hotfix study to be installed (and the pref then automatically sets itself back to false)
