The funny thing real functional languages doesn't use dotted chains. It's quite a stretch to try to make something functional without adequate syntax support. Java streams really make things a more difficult than it should be.

It's a strange take that a possibility to write unformatted code means syntax sucks. I've read other articles and there is other weird stuff. Like Java has perfect syntax because on one line you could do so less. In the mean time

What about redirects from other sites, should Authorization behave like cookies? My point is cookies are ok for auth, and you basically should invent same things with another header.

Identifier in local storage could be stolen by 3rd party JavaScript. Anybody who wants to use local storage for sensitive information should read why there is a httpOnly cookie attribute.

Almost nobody uses SimpleCookie.load for python. Flask, FastAPI, Django have own more relaxed parsers which doesn't break on invalid byte.

On other hand it's a mere blog post. You should not be bothered by TCP cost. But reliable data storage and reliability/restore (in case of backups) cost is a concern.

timestamptz is not more than glorified unix timestamp with nice formatting by default. And it's great! It provides easy zone conversions directly in SQL and allows to use your actual language "date with time zone" type. Namin

On a more deep level "bad" ideas are driven by consumerism/capitalism in general. It's a mere reaction to management demands.

2-to-3 fiasco was solely caused by inadequate support to write py2 compatible code until python 3.4. It was literally "you devs, stop write ugly py2, let's write godly py3".

LMDB is kinda unique in KV segment. It's fast, gives access to zerocopy values, full ACID. I use it for inverted index where SQLite quite sucks. The only issue with LMDB is a size reservation for a db file.
