Reasonable doesn't necessarily mean correct. In the face of specific questions raised by doctors with expertise in this specific field, is reasonable is good enough? From the NPR article: "The stated dose — about .02 microsieverts, a medica

With all due respect to Dr. Reiz, and the Dept. of Physics at ASU, I think I'll be taking my advice from the group of doctors from UCSF (a school well known and respected for its medical research) who wrote a formal letter to the president'

I didn't read niyazpk's comment as a slur against your business model, but as an observation that assumes Cheez code is simpler to write and maintain then other code bases. I can see Cheez's approach working for a web based environment, but

Interesting article in WSJ about some research around the language used by lying CEO's: http://blogs.wsj.com/deals/2010/08/11/how-can-you-tell-if-a-... I'm not saying Ballmers lying, it's just interesting to read the quote above after rea

This may be a move by apple to keep the influx of apps available to iOS, as developers move into the Android space. Given Androids growth, this may be a way for Apple to avoid what happened on the PC platform in the 80's/90's.

I'm surprised at how nascent the Django developer community is portrayed in the slides. I've spent a fair amount of time in the drupal community, which seems to have addressed some of the issues that are presented. (Please -- this is not a

I'm sure this is a fine product, but as a consumer I would need a little education on this product, because the very first thing that came to my mind was "accident waiting to happen."

poor guy... having a little fun with his CV only to get mauled by the HN crowd. :-) On a more serious note, not sure this resume would have made it past our HR person, who is not a programmer and wouldn't have understood this at all.

I, for one, am pretty bored by the market share defense. There are millions of macs out there, owned by people who could drop a little coin on their hardware, and that make them less of a target? There's not one virus writer out there who d

When you say "Neilsen is wrong", you really need to back that up. The Neilsen/Norman group conducts empirical studies and has a fair amount of transparency about their work. Most of the "professional" web designers I've worked with tend to

Honestly, do yourself a favor and check out MAMP. It works great and won't gack the next time apple updates php, mysql, etc. I even kicked in and bought MAMP Pro and its arguably the biggest time saver on my laptop.

I'm very intrigued by Apple not being on this list. Considering that MPEG-4's container shares a history with Quicktime, and the amount of time and effort Apple has spent supporting h.264, I wonder what they're saying internally?

I totally agree, but as mmastrac points out, the form factor is very compelling. I can't imagine someone won't figure out a happy medium between "passive" users and more active ones.

While arguably jump starting the market for tablets, I don't really believe the iPad defines what tablets will or will not do in the immediate future. I suspect we'll see far more flexibility in future devices, especially from Apple's compe
