The main problem is that it's not easy to drill down into a metric in most BI tools because the connection between the dashboard and the source data is usually missing. Looker is one of the first companies that target this specific iss

We use BSL license and metriql is free with a single database target. If you want to connect multiple dbt projects in a single deployment, you need to go through the sales cycle. We work with ETL vendors that use metriql to make revenue wit

I believe that we’re working on a similar product that you described. Our metrics layer, metriql, extends dbt for metrics definitions and provides an open-source CLI that serves your metrics to the data tools. We have REST API and use Trino

Ah, that makes sense! We use https://docusaurus.io/ primarily because dbt uses it as well. :) It would be great if we can team up to build an open specification for the metric definitions though.

We both use dbt as the data modeling layer but we don't actually develop a standalone BI tool. Instead, we integrate to third-party BI tools such as Data Studio, Tableau, Metabase, etc. We love Looker and wanted bring the LookML experi

While native materialized view feature is a great start, unfortunately they're not useful in a practical way if you have data lineage. They works like a black-box and they can't guarantee the query performance. The new generation

The landing page is really cool. It looks like the screencast is built with Javascript, is there any tool that helps building such screencasts? I assume that it's not trivial to build such animations.

I agree with you, most of the CDPs already ingest the data into data warehouses which can answer almost all these questions. We have a similar product and we already have Segment Warehouse integration and Rudderstack seems to be a good fit

It looks like a great SaaS product targeting solo-founders that don't have enough time to build their own reports. The customer data platforms such as Segment enable these use-cases by making the integration seamless enough for everyon

If I'm not mistaken Twitter is mostly on GCP so they could just go with BigQuery instead of developing an in-house solution. We probably need to ask them in order to get a proper answer. :)

Try to run a few petabyte-scale queries and you will be surprised when you see the invoice. If you switch to flat-rate pricing, don't expect the latency that you mentioned.

5 billion events per second? That seems to be too much for monitoring data even at Twitter's scale. The article refers that they store the raw data and use rollup tables for aggregate queries, I wonder how much the ELT process costs in

It looks cool as a person who has at least 20 tabs open in Chrome almost always but it would be much better if we could also use different profiles in the same Chrome window. As they demonstrated, people usually would like to use labels suc

That's the main point of Nuxt. You look at the URL and find the page component without going through the routes file. In case that doesn't work for you, you can use `extendRoutes` for dynamic use-cases.

Great to hear that! One last thing that would make Github a better alternative to Gitlab for teams is the self-hosted runners for organizations IMO.
