I only use https://www.sharpconsumer.com/home-appliances/hg40el/ It runs silently at lowest and humidifies the air too. It uses one container of water per day. I filter the tap water so it doesn't clog up the

Highest-Grossing Entertainment Industry today. And when all the boomers die, it will eclipse many physical industries. To underestimate gaming, is to underestimate simulation of life itself. You're not in the simulation yet .

I mean precision superhuman input like mouse or dual analog sticks. I can't for the life of me see myself using a headset with a mouse, but who knows. That said you cannot depend on not guaranteed inputs because the market goes down fr

This is pretty bad for VR. It will most likely flop because it has no reliable input. So far FrankenQuest 2/3 is on top: http://move.rupy.se/file/FrankenQuest.png Let's see what Valve can do...

It needs to nail many things: pancake with diopter and open drivers. I also want it to use lighthouse tracking since I have them.

No as hardware peaks you can write software that lasts forever. Use C on the client and Java on the server to increase your chances.

I we focus on the largest nuclear power plant in Europe for a minute. Are all reactors completely shut off? Is there any danger of meltdown?

Can somebody explain how 1 request per second matches with 7 billion per month? 2.5 million != 7 billion. So how is Apollo not on that chart?

Good to see that the archive link is now posted on top but why not replace the original URL? I understand that you need to avoid multiples but still should be possible to do both at the same time. I don't know which posts need a paywal

Complete waste of electricity. Proportions are out of whack. You can't use this for anything.

Seen how bad both those are doing and will do in the future I guess it's "progress". But correction to my comment above: These become one global memory... how slow it is and how many corruptions they will have is unknown but

That RAM is distributed among the GPUs right? 256 x 450W = 115KW = 82MWh = $82.000 / month at peak EU costs this winter (which will be normal next winter) For what, something that gets everything wrong?

When I built my VR MMO in 2014 I experimented with very wide camera separation, it's very particular; makes things look very small and distant but they pop out much more. Like 3D on steroids + tilt shift. I also experimented with twice

If anyone could give me a good answer to why 64-bit is useful I wouldn't argue. But now I'm planning a 64-bit linux ARM distro that only runs 32-bit apps!

I think it would be more interesting to expose how the bytecode becomes JS. But I guess I'll dig through at some point... nm, that breakout (that you could run on a 6502) maxxes a 15W modern CPU core. That's 10.000x less efficient

Oh, ok I thought the demo was a picture because nothing happended when you clicked the thing... The JS version has very high latency. How does it work under the hood? Can the same pipeline port Java Applets to WASM/JS?

Correction A7 is the R2 OG SoC, the last 32-bit only ARM! If you have one hold on to it... I knew it was special! They are removing 32-bit from modern ARM... but Intel will always have 32-bit!

I think this is close to fraud, they should be required to state the performance per Watt. 40% performance gain is ZERO if you have to feed it 40% more electricity.

I still use original Raspberry 2's (A53) in my server clusters, they are the lowest power devices that can saturate (good) SD cards on random writes/reads and still have performance left to serve calculations. A72 in Raspberry 4 i

I think 2x 1 Gb/s symmetric home fibers + SuperMicro 12x SATA Atom Mini-ITX with Samsung drives can solve this fairly cheaply and durably depending on write intensity. That said above 80 TB is looking hard for eternity, unless you can
