When I went there it was staggered, which causes this desire for spot trading - seniors register first, so if you are an freshman/sophomore/junior, you beg a senior to register a spot in a class you want then coordinate them dereg

It’s a fun coincidence that it’s the same university/college, Michael Hashimoto went to UW (CSE).

Not sure, but UW IT isn’t incapable of noticing repeated requests from the same IP or something, I assume most students are not setting up systems that go over residential proxies.

I was an EE student and worked for UW CSE back in the day, someone tried to do this back then as well and got very in trouble. There may have been some browser automation scripts about… I wouldn’t know.

According to Weights & Biases, my personal, not work related account was in the top 5% of users, and I trained models for a total of nearly 5000 hours - so if I rented equivalent compute to this machine, I’d probably be out 5-10k so fa

I have a very similar setup, 3x4090s. Depending on the model I’m training, the GPUs use anywhere from 100-400 watts, but don’t get much slower when power limited to say, 250w. So they could power limit the 5090s if they want and get pretty

The rust does stand out as kind odd, not many aerospace materials rust??? How fast would you have to spin a gear ring to say, launch it on a ballistic trajectory and have it go supersonic? Maybe a factory somewhere had a _really_ catastroph

Yep, the only photo library tool I’ve used that can handle 40K raws is Lightroom and Photomechanic. Everything else can’t handle ~2TB of photos.

I think this is the perfect time to do something like this, in the midst of a presidential transition. Regardless of the outgoing and incoming politics, things will be more chaotic. While it won't be unnoticed, it's going to be do

I don’t think that the ethnicity of the actors really matters all that much, the height & hair color are the only real trait that describes how Rand stands out. Honestly the only character with a skin color description I can recall is T

Benchmarks aren’t research, but research is 75% benchmarks of some kind, in my experience at least. Have to know where you are to know where to go, and once you know where to go and go there, well you have to know where you are!
