what if one of those transactions was for cash? no way of knowing if that final withdrawal from gox was the person who used those school computers. alternatively, what about exchanging between multiple cryptocurrencies? more and more pop

the "checkpoint" centralization is only meant to be temporary as a means to protect from a 51 percent attack during the mining phase and while the coin (hopefully) becomes more widely accepted. unfortunately, trust must be given to the dev
