They made no honest mistake at all. I used them two years ago, did the unsubscribe thing three times since and still get spam from them. They know exactly what they are doing, same as beer53.

Yeah, when I replaced my crap electric hob with induction I literally sent a video to my mum boiling a pan of water to show how crazy fast it was. I'm in the UK though, maybe it's something to do with having 230v supply?

B&O are weird. I used to live in Cheltenham UK where they had a store. Was helping a friend install a £40k kitchen island top and a guy from B&O came round at the same time - sharp suit, laptop, briefcase. Turned out he was out to d

At a previous role we had our origin servers attacked by Cloudflare IP ranges even though we were locked down behind them. Seemed at the time anybody could spin up a CF worker and bypass origin restrictions.

Yeah. I quit as after WFH 200 miles away from my office for 3 years after COVID lockdown I was expected to come in 3 days a week. They were perfectly happy with me working from another office 100 miles away - our call centre. What exact ben

Ha, I live in northern England right near one of their stores. You need to remember Booths are probably the 'poshest' supermarket in the UK. They don't compete on price, they compete on service - I remember the first time I b

I used to work there until April - all I can say is good luck enforcing it, they've got no chance. One of the few things I miss about living down south is Bristolians who will not miss an opportunity to poke the bear on this.

It's not Twitch, video is encoded in advance in various formats for different devices. Embedding the ads into the stream is pretty difficult.

Company I used to work for had an AWS bill at 7 figures and sometimes 8 (a very time based offering) AFAICT we had a blanket 20% off the bill, nothing special about egress.

Eh? If you're delivering video at scale there's no way anybody is going to do that for free? Whereas with AWS they charge you for traffic between AWS regions last time I checked?

It was ridiculously bad, even worse with having a dog who brought them in the tent through no fault of her own. Love the place, but Bill Gates needs to spend his money to sort them out.

The first Windows Mobile phones (the XDA etc) were doomed from the start as they didn't haave hardware acceleration, so the screen redraw was dogshit.I loved the idea, but the execution was appalling.

The Miata is called an MX5 in the UK. I used to own another variant, the Abarth Spider - which is best known here as an MX5 in Italian clothing as it had a few improvements, but was based on an MX5. The headunit was trivially easy to hack i
