I constantly try to improve how I write my code. The last couple of years I’ve been involved in a couple of projects that’s required rebuilding a few times over because the project managers kept changing directions and was always in a hurry

It’s refreshing to see a young person with such sound reflections about social media. This post made me reminisce about learning web development when I was 11. Finding resources online was tricky, especially since I didn’t always have acces

Cool! I will keep an eye on this and consider it! Also, I noticed the website seems to not render completely properly on my phone, just something I noticed.

Congrats on the lauch! I’ve been thinking about learning more languages over the years and your approach intrigues me. From the website it appears to be text based learning only though, is that accurate or does the app support vocal convers

This past year I’ve been trying to listen to my gut feeling more often and found that more of my endeavours are successfull, and very often when I disregard it, whatever I set out to accomplish will fail or have unforseen consequences. Funn

Having been in a similar position myself, I understand how hard it can be to let go of either the one or the other. I would suggest you cut down on your hours at work (your steady job), and spend this gained freedom on something which relax

Think it’s great to put that on your resume. If I was to apply for a new job I’d like to believe they would be more interested in the things I’ve built and designed then my grades or past positions.

I see your point, I’m a neat freak who cares about most things I possess. Trouble is, we don’t always have time to be this neat. For example, I’m standing in my laundry room rolling up socks when suddenly someone calls from upstairs. I go i

I might just steal this idea from you. Having a partner who ”organize through chaos” (which I maintain is not an actual system) there are constantly treasure troves of knick-knacks everywhere, usually hiding important items. No matter how o

Thanks for the info! I will keep an eye on this for future projects, keen to try it out. I’m currently working on a project being converted from Electron to Rust/Tauri. I recall Flutter being discussed, but our frontend dev was more co

Commendable effort! I’m currently using Tauri for a project myself and was wondering if anyone has any pros/cons between the two?

This is very cool. Almost completely useless, but very cool all the same. One thing I’m wondering about though. I’m not an expert, but I cannot really see how a VPN is any protection from sketchy public wifis? If they wanted to own you it w

Certainly! Now, I’m no expert and may get some things wrong here, if anyone else knows better I’d be happy to be corrected. Every browser implements a version of ECMAScript (this is a specification declaring what features of the JS language

I have been using JS for more than 20 years, and I do not like it. There are parts of it I find useful, but I avoid using it as much as I can in any project. The biggest reason for this being that the execution of JS code it down to the bro

This is right on the money. I never really used social media, and I started disregarding mainstream news about 8 years ago, relapsing every once in a while when I’m boored only to be reminded the only things reported makes me feel horrible.

I’ve looked at several alternatives over the past year and Copilot is the best I’ve seen so far overall when you factor in ease of use, price to performance etc. There may be services which generates code better, but at the end of the day y

This was a bit of a mixed bag. The tool I found to be the most useful was the ”Todo List Creator”, in my tests it listed my tasks in a sensible fashion. The ”Project Report Creator” link is broken. The ”Product Idea Generator” has some valu

To me it’s needless exposure for admin accounts. I can see the value for frontend, client, accounts. However, only if such a service use usernames and not email addresses for logins. Otherwise it would be a great way for attackers to accume

I think this is a valid point. At least for frontend usage I can see how less generic messages might make sense. I would still opt for generic messages, but I’m also a little paranoid ;)

This reminds me of an article in which brute forcing the WP admin panel was discussed. The problem was that when supplying inaccurate user credentials you would get an error message telling you which was wrong. Their dev stated this was a d

The best way to increase your visibility will likely be to post your project in communities relating to that project. I don’t know of any magic shortcuts for this, except for paid ads.
