I can relate, and I think this is a great sentiment. Buying a Spotify subscription was enough to ease my personal feelings of guilt though (and subscriptions to some video streaming services like Prime). This way I give back to the artist c

On the one hand this may be an article from a developer experimenting with different tools and techniques to advance themselves in life. On the other hand it may just be the author wanted to gaslight ppl into a debate xD

I think it’s just an alternative way of thinking. It’t not one I agree with, but I can see where the author is coming from. Think he’s just tired of spending time on useless tasks around his projects. For all we know they may be, but I do h

For me at least, designing a test will usually let me discover problems with my code which may otherwise gone unnoticed. Leaving the tests there once written to help us in future refactoring costs nothing. Granted, in some languages tests a

Types are there to ensure against human error and reduce the amount of code we need to write. Tests exist to guarantee functionality and increase productivity (by ensuring intended functionality remains as we refactor/change our code&#

Man I just keep getting more jelaous xD 1gps/1gps is my wet dream. The house I live in is tied into a pretty shitty ISP, didn’t know that though until after I bought the place. You live and you learn, someday I too will have a setup th

No not exactly, I meant simply restricting access to particular resources. So, for example, denying access too whatever.whatever/*.mp3 while allowing access to everything else under that domain, potentially applying some form of passwo

Sounds like you got a really good deal on your hardware mate. Seems a little overkill for a simple website/blog, but I’m guessing you intend doing more with this? I’m unfamiliar with Astro unfortunately so can’t really say too much abo

Holy cow! Nice gear, I’m jealous. In my past I’ve hosted several website and game servers from my home, never had anything near as nice as this for that. I’m guessing the server is equipped with SSD:s? Back in the day I omce setup a local w

A simple way to restrict resources would be nice. I’m only familiar with Nginx and Apache and while resource restriction is possible with both I feel it could be simplified. Would be nice if you could restrict resources with individual pass

I love the Steam Deck for exactly these reasons. They make their ecosystem simple to use but they do not lock you into it and in fact makes it dead simple for you to install and use third party software even within their custom UI. I wish m

This reminds me of my first internship. The company I worked at backed everything up on CD:s. I was tasked with writing a new service for their intranet, indexing the content of all CD:s, so staff members could lookup which CD contained a c

Titles really mean very little. The company I work at recently hired a DevOps specialist to help configure Docker services and assist with development. He was a decent developer but had no idea how to securely configure server side services

I’ve no idea what I would really use this for, and yet it’s one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen. My eyes are forever improved from having seen this.

Very nice work! I really enjoyed playing it. One little thing I noticed, at one point I wanted to exit the page and doing so on my Iphone was a little tricky, maybe adding an exit btn would help. Really fun game though, great effort!
