Update, just found out my neighbor's son got a job working at the Port of Oakland for $8.50/hour. He also has a high school education (not that it has a big bearing on the employment rate of his peers).

SOAP is dead for good reason. Its an overcomplicated POS. I will pretty much refuse (unless there is no other alternative) to use a web service that only supports SOAP. My conspiracy theory regarding SOAP is that major tool vendors support

It is very difficult to read this method. The more standard way goes from top to bottom. The lambda method requires the reader to go to the bottom of the statement, then to the top and downward. It requires the writer to remember the idiom
