Apple removed rss from Mail because it was pretty crappy. Anyone interested in RSS should hit the appstore and snag one of many RSS readers that blows Apple's offering off the planet. When I discovered Reeder I knew my browsing habits wou

Apple may as well let Samsung sell the Galaxy Tab. They can thank Google for effectively killing the Android tablet market with this subsidized device that will always be a step ahead on software releases. I can't think of a single reason

I just tried it with an h264 ripped dvd and it's ok, but it's dropping too many frames. I guess the ps3 media server lives on.

I need it as a source to stream my son's movies. Getting tired of using PS3 media server. I'd much rather organize the library in iTunes.

I apologize, I made the mistake of reading cultofmac a bit too literally. http://www.cultofmac.com/177259/why-cant-macs-older-than-201...

Will this work well for movies? I'm mainly trying to simplify the streaming for my 3 year olds dvd library from my iMac to a PS3.

Can anyone comment if airplay is disabled on pre 2011 macs? I'm going to be royally pissed if airplay is disabled because I'm missing some BS drm chip. Hopefully the era of "Jailbreaking" macs has not started.

I got annoyed when this happened to HTC, but Samsung is a different story. Their entire business model is based on dumpster diving at 1 infinity loop. I agree that these patents look silly on their own, but when you add them all up you se

Like others have pointed out, you'll probably not get much traction with this project due to the way you've decided to package everything. One immediate problem I see is that you don't have version set in your Gemfile. Down the road, when

I have an ignorant question... when a SHA1 encrypted password is cracked, can the hackers actually identify what the unencrypted password is? I'm guessing no since SHA1 uses a hashing algorithm and only a brute force approach would potentia

If Samsung worded it "We're donating $500k to support the great work the Linux Foundation does with FOSS" then I might give them a nod. But to say they are investing $500k (a paltry sum) to battle iOS is kind of sad. Why even say that, it

I'm very impressed with Apple's ability to turn over inventory, it seems to be an extremely well oiled machine. But... I have to wonder if these optimizations work against Apple if there is a sudden significant downturn in demand. Since App

I did not read through all of the posts, but it appears to be related to nVidia hardware. I'm guessing that you are not using an nVidia card. On a side note, I gave up nVidia hardware altogether (about 4 years ago) because of endless issue

It looks like it's just taking the place of having to attach an event to the radio button, doing a lookup on the sibling #find_me element and manipulating it's style via JS. These types of things are great, the more we move away from JS DOM

Yes, I believe the original osx release more closely resembles Lion than Windows 2000 resembles Windows 7 (notwithstanding the architecture change). It's an amazing achievement for apple, their api's and UI have matured quite impressively.

You could say the same thing about the release of OSX. MS is playing catch up in the mobile sector, a place they never dominated. They still OWN pc marketshare. Now make me stop defending these guys, I'm getting heartburn.

As much as this pains me to say it, I don't think Ballmer is the worst by far. The reality is that MS's numbers are still great despite not having the stranglehold over the PC industry that they once had. It's still a very strong company.

This will not amount to anything (negative) as instagram isn't worth anything near what Facebook is paying for them. Zuck is taking a gamble by getting a social network on the rise, but is still completely unproven. The last thing he want

Please forgive my ignorance, but what's the point of having proprietary web apps for Chrome that could already be achieved with existing HTML5 toolkits? This just seems to be an effort to "app-ify" the web, that is, create a shitty appstore

There's one pretty big flaw with this approach... For certain searches that do not have "millions of results", you get completely unrelated results. If I search my name then the results are for names similar to mine, but not actually my nam
