I'm a big fan of RSS and curate a number of topic-specific feeds of highlights available for people to subscribe to (in my profile for anyone who is interested). I wish more feeds had this kind of focus- sharing the meat of something i

Thank you for posting this. I have been on the anti-thread bandwagon for a long time, but something about your post really opened my eyes and convinced me to stop being so stubborn. I had shared an article link on Twitter earlier today and

Sorry that you got down-voted for this. I tried to balance it out by voting it up. In general I think all of the possibilities that you mentioned with threads making new conversations etc. are true. For me, the issue is more in the UI/

I jumped ship from macOS to Windows back in 2020 and honestly it has been great. Most of the time I essentially use Windows as a DE for Linux under WSL2. Especially since the windows-rs[1] crate was published, for me it is just so much more

I'm also a very happy user of cronjobs using `cron -f` (managed with Overmind) on one of their free shared VMs.

I submitted a post to HN last week that provides a technical overview of migrating from Digital Ocean Kubernetes to Fly.io.[1] The submission contains a lot of interesting comments on the perceived pros and cons of using a service like Fly.

This sounds a lot like what I'm working on with Notado Feeds[1]. Users can curate feeds (with RSS subscriptions) on specific topics from their libraries that get automatically populated. I haven't published a dedicated article on

It's always an interesting time reaching the front page of HN. As might be expected, Notado saw a huge surge in registrations, saved content and large batches of comment imports today; I'm happy to report that this "hug of de

I'm afraid I couldn't make that argument with a straight face. I would recommend that you go with something like Hugo[1], throw it on an S3(-compatible) bucket and be done with it.[2] [1] https://gohugo.io/ [2] Th

I am happy to engage in discussion with critical comments made in good faith. This comment however, with its unnecessary ad-hominem attacks, seems particularly mean-spirited. For this reason, I have flagged your comment.

I generally agree, though I would add that I think this depends a lot on the skill set and technical background of the person. My gut feeling is that if someone is going to struggle with optimizing for a relatively fixed target like Fly (th

Thanks for this question! Back in early 2020, Meilisearch did not have a Rust client library, but it did have a Go client library[1], and there was nothing comparable to lib/pq[1] in the Rust ecosystem which would allow me to create a

Definitely. And just think, Notado started off on k8s without any users at all! As the article hints at, the choice mainly came down to laziness and complacency, at the cost of significant added complexity that would be paid by "future

The larger story that I will be telling through this series of posts is the re-integration of the cast that powers Notado back into a monolith; hopefully it's something you and other readers will find interesting!
