Police have a great deal of latitude in how they enforce the law. Ever been to court when it was your word against a police officer? Who would you imagine the court, jury or your peers will believe?

You are correct. The author did not correctly read the graphs. The time shift was done on tumblr's US numbers vs. The global numbers. The posterous data was ignored at the bottom.

I think all the math is based on the known costs of EC2 services at various rate plans. All the people posting dollar figures here and on reddit are drawing from these know costs.

What is wrong with mainframes? The problems banks solve are the reason mainframes exist. Billions of data points that must be processed 100% correct 100% percent of the time. It seems wrong to demonize mainframes as old and outmoded.
