I'm sorda looking forward to the Metaverse. Or rather, I'm pleased that FB is baiting the rest of the tech giants into an arms race on VR hardware and software development. I'm a huge fan of VR gaming. The state of the art

Someone said that driving them to and from school is 20x more dangerous (and then edited their comment to say 10x instead of 20x). I was just casually looking up the stats for myself and thought I'd share.

Those were certainly pulled out of thin air. All these numbers are for the US: Approx 38k people killed in cars in 2020: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Motor_vehicle_fatality_rate_in... , lets assume the same for 2021 s

The NPCs in Cyberpunk are extremely limited in what they do, the world isn't realistic at all, and the frame rates drop for no real reason. It's a simple game, and as limited as GTA is.

Yeah I got that feeling as well, but it's not the main reason that is presented in the training. The main issue is that your words will be taken out of context and used against the company. If you say "we are going to dominate the

Sure but using the past tense implies that the thing does not happen anymore. That's why the Mitch Hedberg bit is funny (I used to do drugs... I still do but I used to, too) is humorous. It subverts your expectation that the thing you

uh ok, sounds like you've thought about this a lot. I just meant to say that *to me*, toxic doesn't imply irredeemable. It's just a popular word for harmful.

I don't think "toxic" means "irredeemably harmful". It just means harmful and makes no judgement on intent.

What is your definition of "replace"? Waymo operates a driverless taxi service in Phoenix. Sign ups are open to the general public. IMO this counts as replacing some drivers as there is less demand for taxi service in the opera

I have an Aeron at home and an Embody at work. I much prefer the Embody. It's firm but with springiness right where you want it (like in the mid back). Definitely try before you buy though. I wouldn't really call either of them

Proponents of Ethereum will say that smart contracts obviate the need for courts. I don't think this sort of Ethereum bug/hack thing has ever shown up in the court system yet. I'm sure someone will bring a case if they know w

If the annual increase is capped at 2% and inflation is >2% then the value reaped by property tax will eventually go to 0. Similar to how if you rent the same place for long enough and it's rent controlled your rent effectively gets

It is mentioned that volume matters, but I am saying that this conclusion is wrong: "The bodybuilders had lots of opportunities to experiment and tinker, with lots of skin in the game, but they were still getting things pretty wrong...

The author seems to ignore the fact that "1m rest periods is best" and "5m rest periods maximizes hypertrophy when volume is kept constant" can both be correct when you consider that: - Volume is EXTREMELY important - Pe

Sure, but nobody is buying time on your GPU to mine Bitcoin. They are buying time on your GPU to mine some other cryptocurrency. One that uses a different hashing algorithm.

You're not actually mining Bitcoin with your GPU. I think nicehash automatically picks the most profitable coin to mine at the time and just pays out in bitcoin. It hasn't been profitable to mine bitcoin with a GPU since 2013 or

Different poster, but I share the same hope. Most people won't put their life on the line for the revolution if their life is sufficiently comfy. Revolutions only happen when people have no other choice. When it's revolt or die
