I see this "fake tom cruise" serie of video a lot on youtube (probably the same guy, because it's the same voice and same height). It's so perfect it made me wonder if the guy's isn't already a tom cruise looka

you would be surprised by how much work an e2e chat application with the quality of whatsapp requires. Doing a crappy chat app, yes sure that's easy. But one that works as reliably, with the general performance of whatsapp ? Even with

"French culture is whatever happens in France" This sounds to me as a bit tautological. If we move 200 millions from china in 1 month, you wouldn't say "french culture is about eating rice, and french people generally lo

i've always wished someone did a study on the usage of cocaïne among politician and the impact it had on their policies. I suspect a lot of overreacting, impulsive and careless decisions were taken while under influence.

Chris lattner had very clearly stated objectives for the language, and at some point cross-platform swift was a real possibility : at the time when a few server framework were created and when people at google were using it. Why this never

Except the end-result of that policy is that 90% (made up number) of the app on the store are made with cross-platform tools, because very few can afford 1/ learning a language just for one platform 2/ not reusing any code at al

i know, it's just completely delusional. Thinking that a programming language can thrive in a walled garden is insane. They've been burned by this in the past with objc, i don't understand how they can try again.

Agree with you on all points, but especially on enums. The most surprising thing to me, is that typed enums look super orthogonal to all the other features of the language, look quite « easy » to add and certainly won’t make the language mo

i'd say key exchange. You need to get key information and message in the correct order orelse you won't be able to decode the info. Now of course you can reimplement an ordering mechanism on top of an unordered one, with lost mess
