Zapier co-founder here, this is incredible! It is fun and humbling to see people doing stuff I never would have predicted when we started Zapier. Thanks for sharing. :-)

Of course, there is a lot of nuance in the OAuth spec(s), but we didn't feel the need to be that verbose for an "An Introduction to APIs". We'd love to hear more about what broad but important aspect of OAuth that we mis

We also just added this to Zapier in about 40 minutes with our developer platform [0], so if you want to create notes automatically, check us out: https://zapier.com/zapbook/onenote/ [0] https://zapier.

Indeed, we actually have users doing both of those examples! (None have opted to share their zaps, so the parents' links remain barren.)

Sure! In very broad strokes: First, download yourself a copy of Google's diff-match-patch. Second, make a template for the email you have (think "Your shipment will be delivered {{date}}. Thank you!" vs. the original raw emai

It is not possible to extract something (today) that would be generated inside a for loop. I'd be curious if anyone has ideas on how you might do that. If you need support for more complex emails and extraction rules, you might look in

I really want to open source the core parsing bit which is based on diff-match-patch but I've got some cleanup to do before... It is probably not hard to reverse engineer what we're doing, it is pretty simple!

It can actually get pretty complex, the technique we're using is a wacky hacky hodgepodge of Google diff-match-patch that works surprisingly well! If you run into any that don't work, just let us know and we can add it to the te

Happy to answer any questions! This tool has been in use for many months by some select Zapier users and we decided to finally release it. I definitely want to open source the core extractor bits and document the REST API that powers the Za

`/topic/add` would be a fine URL to return the form HTML, the "RESTful" API would be like `POST /api/topic` where POST implies create and topic implies, well, topic.

The thing that worried me the most about Elasticsearch was how fragile it got around the limits of its performance. Run out of memory because of a nasty query? Boom, data corrupted. I hope you weren't using it as your primary persisten

I'm always a bit shocked that people can be so dismissive, is there really a precedent of a value construct like bitcoin that we can extrapolate confidently from?
