Any media reports on this? Really sad that a great human toll was paid for naught.

I don't understand what happened wrt #1. Was the black money like the mythical WMDs and unicorns? Or did it just make its way into the new money supply?

I'm really interested learning mandarin some day day. Can you describe how you managed to get started with Japanese? I have a 1 year old so all free time currently goes to her and the Mrs. I think I also don't work very efficientl

I've heard of these accounting shenanigens. If you are ever faced with a contract where you get "residuals"/net-profit, how do you protect yourself?

In places like the Bay area and Manhattan, it is not atypical to see rents of 4-5K for a 3 bedroom apartment. My personal experience (n=1) indicates that many of these places are inhabited by young adults (single or childless couples) who a

When I saw ... average renter has a salary of 300K and aged 30 ... I stopped reading. These seem like alternative facts to me. While there surely exist people like this, I call BS that they are in a significant enough number to be statistic

This is mildly off-topic. I just got a robot, motor shield and and Arduino for my 8 year old niece. In about 10 mins, we put the robot chassis together. The software was a different story. She had used code.org with its scratch-like blockly

I work in this space. While this platform looks a lot better than previous Google efforts, this is no way a solution. A key problem with IoT is too many standards that don't play nice with each other. And this is not a technical proble

I completely missed the boat when rates were slashed. I didn't buy property soon enough (in Canada) and it has gone out of reach. In retrospect, I was stupid .. should have seen the situation coming. What are obvious things to do in ti

As you get away from CS101, you kind of stop getting excited by it. I honestly don't care to look up how to implement quicksort at this point and would rather hack on some deep learning code in my spare time. Friends my age frustrated

I am most comfy with Python but think it is the wrong language for me to do coding interviews. When I was in school, I was taught intro CS in C and Java. I got tripped by a fairly CS 101 question even though I use Python very productively a

Do you leave your publications off the list as well? Curious how long your resume is. I currently have a 4 pager full of pubs, conference service, etc. Thinking I should cull a lot of stuff.

Intel's IoT effort seems very strange to me. You can get Rpi or similar board for $5-25, while and Edison or Currie is a lot more expensive. I know dev boards is not where they want to make their money .. but surely the chips cannot pr

As a new father, what he said about fathers doing what it takes to support their kids hit home. That said, I have made a decision (it wasn't a grand plan but sort of happened over the past few months) to put my family over my career. T
