Okay - it really seems to be quite active right now. Thank you for your insight. I've used the Linq queries in one of my projects, but I like the QueryOver statements more (a little bit too much black magic in the Linq queries). But I

What is your opinion on the state of NHibernate ? I've started using it in 2009. I am still using it in my projects, but I am still not sure if NHibernate is functional complete or if the project is nearly dead. It works fine for me (i

I do. When I fall asleep in front of the TV (my bedroom is normally colder) without a blanket I wake up freezing. Even in summer nights I prefer a very light blanket to cover myself.

Well - if I am staying in "my country" I leave my manual selected carrier on. When I'm travelling into the other countries I change it to automatic carrier search. Works fine for me.

Living in a border region nearly everyone here uses "manual carrier search" (I don't know the proper English term for this). Otherwise it can get pretty costly.

That is not my experience at all (as someone coming from Austria). When working with Americans we had to sugar coat so much so noone was embarassed or we didn't step on the toes of the American workers. Maybe this was just my experienc

I do the same thing in recording studios. You have to turn off your phone completely. Nothing worse than ruining a good take when you receive a call.

wow - do you have any sources for your example with the 747 on the transatlantic flight. I dont' think you're wrong, I just would like to check the facts. I know that transatlantic flights are VERY bad for the environment and for

I do understand your sentiment - but I am in the same boat as the original poster. I really enjoy watching sport - but I haven't enjoyed a single eSport event I've seen. But I enjoy watching the physical aspect of sports (I mainl

Well in Austria the current standard is triple pane windows (my parents house form the 70ies had double pane windows). I don't know the current percentage, but passive houses ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Passive_

Are Japanese houses even worse than American houses ? From a European stand point most American houses are built cheaply and especially their insulation is much worse than in Middle Europe. At least that is what I've been told and what

Not everything is well in Germany. The "Stern", one of the big German magazines https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stern_(magazine) , took a big nosedive in quality in my opinion. 3 or 4 years ago (i am not sure wh

Well for quality furniture 10x the price of IKEA is not really obscene (depends on which price point of IKEA you're talking about - there are some more "high-end-ish" things there). But in furniture you get what you pay for -
