Thank you - heard about FidoNet before, but wasn't aware of these numbers or what they mean.

What do these numbers mean ? My Google-Fu is failing I was just a little bit too young to get access to BBS in my youth.

and that shows exactly my problem with the one sentence analogies: "we're the Dolby for reading". The first thing I know about Dolby is the noise suppression technology for tapes. So you are noise suppression for reading ? We

The chinese mobile phones (and tablets) with the MediaTek chips are cheap and nice, but LinegeOS doesn't support them. My last 3 mobile phones were MediaTek phones, but that's one of my biggest gripes with them.

It is very weird. But in the old days you got German translated books. I've read most of my programming books in English as most of the online resources were in English. Reading a German book about C++ with "Vorlagen". Didn&#

Festival coffee is horrible. If you get one. Normally I take my own gas cooker with me (made some noodles too) and make my own instant coffee. That's the only time when I'm buying instant coffee, but all the ones I've tried

I am the same.. as soon as something is a subscription model I am asking myself if I really want it. But a cup of great instant coffee could be awesome. Especially when you are camping or on music festivals. These were the only times I was

I don't like your subscription model and I don't like how your positioning yourself in the market. It feels like the Nespresso (I think that's Keurig in the US with a similar model) of instant coffee. But I would like to test

Well the Amiga had 4096 colours. The colour palette was of course more flexibel. But if you compare the C64 palette with other 8 bit computers of the time, it looks better for me. And as he explains in his article, it is easier to generate

It seems Apple is not to interested in any special market. What I am reading they are losing their strong position in Audio and Video creation too. They are living too well with their generic phones, tablets and laptops. Never have really u

I am exactly the opposite. I preferred the placement on German cars. I try to park pretty close to the pump. With the filler on the same side as the driver door I have to be careful not to bang the door into the structure around the pump. T

You can. But I've put about 30 albums on my phone and I have little internal space, so I just put a "small list" on it. But for what it is worth 1 GB may be fine. Handling 30 albums would be a nightmare with the Shuffle. It w

Do you mean the Shure SM58 ? I'd say definitely. One of the most used designs. Built like a tank. One of the most used and abused microphones in my opinion.

A Mac user said it should be quite good on OS X, but it sucks on Windows. It is incredible slow for many operations. My solution is to use command line git for most operations and SourceTree just for visualizing the repository. It's pr

We are using Galera clustering with MariaDB on 3 nodes for that. We are using it since 2014. First in line is a HAProxy which directs the traffic to one of the 3 nodes. If one of the nodes goes down HAProxy directs the traffic to the other
