I second a few people on here: You will probably need to learn quite a lot of math if you did not study physics or math. In order to understand quantum physics, you will need to understand what vector spaces and Hilbert spaces are, have a g

No non-essential travel for Americans to Canada.

Yeah, maybe not do the standard American thing and visit 5 countries in 2 weeks. Pick one of them and visit more places than just the capital.

Actually it translated to "have to", not "should" (which would more properly be "sollten").

From the post 5 years ago, this blog post summarizes the article well: https://motls.blogspot.com/2015/06/is-quantum-reality-person... Edit: Going through recent posts of this guy, I would also like to state that

A non-physicist writing about entropy most often leads to a incorrect article full of slightly incorrect statements and misunderstandings. Case in point this article.

Yeah, it is correct. The electromagnetic interaction is mediated by the photon. An electron is just one of the fundamental particles that interacts electromagnetically. We use free electrons in metals for the conduction of electricity, but

Technically, the photon is also the particle for electricity, not the electron.

I think it seems that way because of the 7:1 in the semi finals. But honestly, the result came to be mainly because Brazil was really playing like garbage the whole tournament and only made it that far because the referees had seriously hel

To be fair, a passport is only needed to travel outside of the EU. Elderly that can't make it to an office to get the passport will have an even harder time actually travelling outside of the EU.

I don't think the US has anything like furlough in Europe. Also, Boeing just fired their employees. Nothing to be done about that now.

Fair enough, wikipedia does include the reference to expectation in its definition of paradox. However, I think my main point is still valid that this should not necessarily be called a paradox exactly because it differs a lot from how this

I don't think this should be called a paradox. It's just a case where the limitations of the model (ideal everything) is clear and leads to inconsistent results. Adjusting the model and making it more realistic, quickly clears up

A lot of the comments below indicate that that the Du/Sie distinction is something old fashioned and young people don't do this anymore. This is arguably false. Even though it might not be at the same level as it was 70 or 80 year

I absolutely agree. Toronto has either single family homes (low density) or high rise condos (high density), but the medium density part is absolutely missing and it has a pretty negative effect on Toronto, I feel.

If this were true (I doubt it), that's an insanely short patent (6 pages) with barely any information about the device. How would something like this get approved. That's insane.

My gandma used to read the Struwwelpeter stories to me as a child. I would actually disagree with the premise of the article that they make children want to die. They actually are supposed to frighten children into behaving properly.
