When I was hacking that for my blog I went with user-agent detection because of the UX. I don't consider this feature to be anything more that "look at his cool stuff I did" and telling random friend to copy and paste an url

I'm an avid letter writer and when pandemic hit I looked into online stamps. In Poland you can order stamps (to print at home) and even include your own graphics on them. I had a lot of fun with that and did people who got letters from

As a fan of Proust I feel he already did that but not in the way Derek intended. It's more like "One sentence per page(s) — https://nathanbrixius.wordpress.com/2013/10/30/the-five-long...

I was a fan since MCP (a super bag of hacks and goodies for AmigaOS) came with a way of putting @123 next to your date. I even "reimplemented" it for fun and wrote a blog about it. You probably can't read it since it's i

That's one of my issues, of course. With half-automated/decided by unaccountable forces strict reading of the "law" (store policy) you get outcomes like that. It would be much better to have "spirit of the law"

That's all well and good but I wish we could avoid the entire circus from the start. I hate the power companies have over distribution channels, the eternal struggle between convince and freedom.

Only 600 millions years ago my Central European city was a beach front to the mega-Ocean. Would be sweet to see it but the lack of infrastructure could get annoying. Very fun project.

Luckily I'm well over the acquisition phase. I'm very happy with the pens I have and I basically rotate 5-7 pens, having 2 inked at most.

It's a common joke on r/fountainpens. I think there's a subreddit covering fountain pens, mechanical keyboards and, if my memory serves me, headphones.

I'm using a very slow computer (intentionally) and I can't look up anything. Even if the title pops up in find-as-you-type neither clicking it or pressing Enter moves me forward. Too bad, I was very interested. Edit: it finally wo

For whatever it is worth, you can setup Takeout to make a copy every X months for a year or something like that. Far cry from automated solution, but better than nothing. I need to find Photos alternative because that's the last Google

It's true that with ideas, if you wait long enough, someone will do the work for you. I was toying with an idea of "novel markup", something that could let you track characters over scenes, geographical locations and interper

I have an older Bitt Boy in GB-like shell and it works quite well, it struggles a little with SNES. The battery is swappable but you'll get few hours out of it. Charges from micro USB. https://bittboy.com/
