The market is all about growth -- they're projecting a pullback next quarter. It's also already priced in -- they're about 200% last year's price ($7.50). Investors already expected this news, they only beat estimates by

The article / study only seemed to consider specific ad buys though very particular conditions -- particular app / ad network and waiting till targets showed up in a geofence. It seems that an even simpler method would be basic re

At this point (trying to be a good citizen, not using an ad blocker) the ads on the site lock up my computer, and a simple lookup turns into a substantial time investment. Vs MDN doesn't have this issue.

Moving from unrealized to realized cost faster, sure is worse to a quarter, etc, but eventually it will all be realized. It is on their balance sheets in some way regardless. The bigger picture is that human capital to assess all the claims

Seems like the article is incomplete. Another hour or two of investigation, actually proving a malware connection would have been really interesting. TLDR: It's not a legitimate site, they're probably doing something silly, though

I can't think of a single website I know that uses JS to intelligently load thing via connection-speed sniffing. It's a nice thought, but it doesn't happen. There used to be JS fills for responsive imagery -- it was never con

I'm not sure the article did well answering the headline. I now know that there is a mainframe (emulator it seems from additional research) that returns API responses very quickly (1-6ms) TO a Java app... which apparently is inefficien

One of my favorite videos, BBC Horizon's 20 year old Inside Chernobyl's Sarcophagus. There are details of "the elephant's foot" at around 16m. http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x223h9r_bbc-horizo

I'm not sure -- you could make the argument that without dollars exchanged, the value of Google's algorithm is less. The overall irony that I'm attempting to express is that this person is part of a governmental "trust a

The actual components seem interesting. The odd part of this seems to be the building/requiring process. It seems that there are some implicit dependencies on webpack, which are not well spelled out. It appears the team chose to make a

Obviously this ad network can do what they want. They can work with or not work with any website they desire. But I do worry about companies who control money becoming vigilantes attempting to support points of view they agree with and squa

Was most interested in this point: > According to KISSMetrics, every additional second of load time for a page will increase its bounce rate by 7%. Awesome, actionable metric. However, all I can find in the linked page is this, which is

Excellent question. I know of no answer, but maybe part of the issue of terrible TOS's is lack of resources to write good ones?

This is very true. However, I wonder if we as engineers and the like can provide a better TLDR ratings guide for marketplaces. Kinda like https://tosdr.org/ or a BBB that works... Then we as engineers refuse to build apps f
