If you put this all down under scare mongering because prosecutors can be found guilty you are... seeing things very far out of perspective.

Decriminalizing sale won't do much about production, which is far from green, biodynamic, slavery free, etc. etc.

Dutch Police has been trying to sound that alarm now for years (ondermijnende criminaliteit), but nobody listens. I regularly read about incidents in foreign media that got no coverage locally. My municipality is running awareness campaigns

That again depends on jurisdiction. In much of the EU, this is not expensive and a thriving industry exists to support businesses to get bills paid.

That sort of adversarial weaponization of credit cards is really a US thing. In most of the world, payment is not relevant to the question of liability: you create a debt, whether or not you can debit a card. So, looks like DigitalOcean is

Anyone exceeding their plan with a factor of 10 or hell, let's make it a 100, almost certainly didn't anticipate it and thus isn't prepared for the kind of bill that apparently comes with it (or even knows that there would be

I understand that you need to pay bills, but auto-billing over the bandwidth budget just isn't OK, or at least not unless the user specifically configures that that's OK. I for sure didn't understand your bandwidth tiers that

And here I am, in a shop of about 3K FTE, where we are squeezed 6 persons onto a single socket Xeon which barely beats an iPhone 15 Pro rendering those 12 screen worth of data slowing down to a crawl, huge latency, crappy disk latency too (

Reminds me of free dotcoms back in the late 1990s just up until the dotcom bubble burst: free but with a frame with a banner. 14 year old me enjoyed learning how to load (and then design around) my own page in that frame.

Asml does this, learning how to scale the cutting edge of two years ago. This is what scaling cutting edge physics looks like. Academic groups sometimes take the better part of a decade (or more) to replicate a setup by another group. There

People love to label things, and parents overlabelling ADHD has been a common warning among anyone working with kids now. In broader context I think we are now finally starting to pay attention to the fact every single human is subtly or no
