In the case of dangling pointers, garbage collection just converts a potential heap corruption bug into a probable memory leak instead. Not really an obvious win. At least in C you have to be conscious of memory management in order to suc

I'm not putting down the contributions of secretaries or any other non-engineering roles in a company. My point is simply that the quality of developer talent at a software company will permanently influence the future of that company in a

I guess because hiring a mediocre secretary or janitor will not jeopardize a software company in the same way as hiring a team of mediocre engineers.

The concept is brilliant and filled with potential, but like every other joke on Uncyclopedia the delivery is pretty disappointing. For example, they set up an awesome joke here: uncyclopedia@uncyclo-laptop:~$ help --help Display

Since Finger Trees are powered by Monoids, this is also a very good explanation of why Monoids are useful in Haskell.

The bananas you buy at the supermarket are all genetically identical clones. This is why they are so vulnerable to the banana plague.

You can do that, but nobody writes Java code like this since it's more awkward and aesthetically offensive than explicit bounds checking.

Night security at some office building sounds like a dream job to me. I would do it for free and maybe I would even pay to do it since I would get more (computer) work done there than working out of my apartment.
