For question 7, can someone confirm that int a[][3] = {1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6}; is not a typo and is, in fact, a valid array initialization? I've never come across this and think it's rather unintuitive.

Background check sites are the lowest of the low. Worse than Steve Yegge's "cat picture" sites. EDIT: My only reason for saying the above is that I can only imagine these sites being used for borderline nefarious purposes.

<30 seconds is considered real-time? At the company I used to work for, all clients around the world had to get the same data in <1 second. Does there exist a definition of "real-time" that can be used across industries?
