I sort of feel the same you in that reading that post increased my understanding by close to nothing. I can see 'fun' once you say it, but I never would have thought that on my own nor would I see that there's a font "personality clash". I

That's what I don't get...he went to all that trouble of researching the 'problem' he lists the dev build, etc. I guess not everyone is familiar with what branching and releases are for.

There's a pretty good case for making the comparison closer to alphabetical ordering. 'apple' before 'pear' even though 'apple' is the longer string. 'z' before 'zz' also follows alphabetical ordering.

I don't think that's the conclusion anyone is drawing. Most other articles use the phrase "announced on Monday". The journalist in the TED talk scraped status updates for "break up" or "broken up". This isn't supposed to be taken as hard

Interesting (and provocative) point, but that seems like a stretch that Apple would considering such and indirect action just to put up a roadblock for Android developers, and not a very big roadblock at that.

Yeah, discomfort v. pain makes it seem like less v. more but that's not the distinction at all. I'm not a runner at all, but I know that stabbing feeling in my side and my lungs frantically gasping for air isn't going to kill me or make me

By this reasoning, Android being open is not an advantage. I gain just as much buying an iPhone. I think this is an interesting shift of the debate- does open really matter? Or more specifically, who does open benefit and who cares about
