maps/reduces returning iterators objects instead of a list. Having to call list() on anything I map is just a pain. Why do you require it to be a list?

Too many authors don't update their classifiers before uploading to PyPI. Plenty of things on that list are incorrect, but it's the package author's fault.

"Maybe py3k is viewed as "that bad," that no one wants to bother with it?" I don't think anyone's viewing it that way. A lot of people want to switch and many are, but there's the non-zero cost of porting and also the generally low demand.

Interesting that he was the man behind the Red Sox 2005 draft -- it would be fun to get a look at the stats and analysis he compiled for that. Michael Bowden came right out of high school so I wonder how the difference in stat keeping and o

The ones that don't know Python going into it are typically locals. I had lunch with two Atlanta residents last year that were big C# guys but their job wanted them to learn Python. They sent them to a few tutorials and picked out a few tal

If I wasn't such a know-it-all kid, I could answer 90's (99). Instead, I told my dad Python is stupid and I don't want to be a programmer or study computer science. ...then I went on a few years later to study CS and now I use Python.

I usually end up listening to bands like Sunn or Om. Super slow, heavy, and they don't take over what I'm doing. When I put on faster paced metal of any variety I find myself tapping my feet with the bass drums and then tapping with my fing

I don't either. This same thread gets posted on Reddit's /r/Python seemingly once every few weeks and everyone freaks out all over again.

What version should be promoted? As much as I like, use, and work on Python 3, a campaign to get distros to use 3.x would leave a lot of projects in the dust, broken and unusable, or resulting in a rushed conversion. On the other side of th

My GPA was worse and it never didn't prevent me from getting any of the phone interviews or the on-site. Don't count yourself out.
