Wait a second! So he donates $28 million to a hospital and you are complaining? You can't be serious. When you donate $28 million to a better cause I'm sure we'll all like to hear about it. Until then, I hope I don't run in to "people li

How do people like this always find something to complain about? Enjoy the brilliant, cheap album and complain about something that matters.

I've seen a lot of instances recently where some of the worst design (at least to my _untrained_ eye) is on sites promoting good design.

I have to agree that CLRS is probably the most thorough, but as a bare introductory book to someone learning on their own (who probably is not currently in a computer science program) I would recommend Introduction to the Design and Analysi

What if it led to being as healthy as a 20 yr old for 85 years.... then we just kill ourselves off! Quality is greater than quantity in that light.

Also, try to narrow it down into 5 lines. I'd be curious what you come up with.

Sure. Most complex ideas can be simplified into succinct, formal mathematical statements, but that doesn't mean I would prefer reading the formalisms in place of prose.

GEB (Godel Escher Bach : An Eternal Golden Braid ) Read it because no matter who you are, what you know, and even whether or not you've read it before it will make you think critically and you will learn something.

I'm not sure its a bad sign per se. It should just be a wakeup call back to reality (a good thing!). I (temporarily) bailed on the startup world for graduate school because most of it was uninteresting, unproductive, cutesy cruft. It may

No, AdSense is a business model in which there is a simple javascript widget interface. The model is money in exchange for advertising across billions(?) of websites. A startup is created and launched when there is a business model that u

Maybe an analogy is due. In the car world there are all kinds of people who strap on after market accessories to make their cars faster. These people are in the "fad" part, where as the underlying "advancement" may be decades old.
