Right, but when you lose the case, you lose that money again, or vice versa as the business. To many Americans and world citizens with less disposable income, you might seem kind of nutty to not worry about losing 3% on your under $15 purch

You are not guaranteed to win a credit card dispute. Depending on the card, it takes a great deal of your time to file the dispute and continue to submit supporting evidence down the line. You are paying 1-3% on all of your transactions for

The comparison to credit card theft is inappropriate; you are not exposing your private information in the same way you are with a credit card. When you pay for something online, you are transmitting your credit card number over the wire. W

I am not sure I follow you on people being worried about a BTC drop from their own selling of BTC. We are in a bull market; one person selling BTC for USD on an exchange is not going to have a significant impact. "so they move into tet

+1 Butterknife doesn't reduce lines of code, introduces new syntax to learn, and carries additional risk (eg it has introduced unexpected issues). I believe some of the framework+library bloat is intellectual signaling.

Losing a lot of money if you post your own bail is another big incentive to show up for court, but unlike most counties in the country, San Francisco does not allow an individual or their friends, family, or attorney to pay the bail. While

The police can sell property for funding. A convoluted process for recovering property increases demand for law services, so even though defense attorneys might be against the process ethically, they still stand to gain from the process fin

Some employers offer such a thing as group legal insurance, but that protects a privileged few and is more like a band-aid. I think most people are against this sort of corruption when the learn of it. Reform should be a realistic goal. I s

Somewhat orthogonal: In SF, the jail will only accept bail from registered bail bondsmen. They will not accept bail money from the arrestee, friends of the arrestee, or family. The average rate for a bail bondsman is 10%. A common practice

On android, MVC is dead. Talk about overly-circuitous code that is not straight forward to step through. MVP is great, when not over-done by folks as well (eg making a model-view-presenter unit recursively for every element on screen rather
