Sorry, try again. There was a rogue feature flag keeping it restricted from some users seeing it as an option.

More of the collaboration features and team features have been or are being built into the Outerbase cloud offering. You can already invite teammates, share resources, see whose looking at what databases, and more there.

Correct. Our goal is to have all of our data sources across all Outerbase products powered by our SDK - https://github.com/outerbase/sdk . Currently the Studio product is not powered by it but our cloud and other offeri

Tauri when we last tried it was using your default browser to power it, which is great in theory. When we went to use newer API's such as the Popover API then browsers like Safari had a subpar user experience for a number of reasons of

Yes, of course! Sorry didn't mean to make it seem insignificant – was quite excited to see him show up there from a personal fanboy perspective.

Appreciate the candidness to your response here. Honestly we put this brand and website together in two days and we wanted to have some fun with it. That said there is a lot more we can do to make the website more informative, and we'l

We don't cache query responses in the Starbase application layer. When we originally set out to build this, we were under the assumption we had to handle the ACID transactional support ourselves. Thankfully someone from Cloudflare shed

Still think there is a lot we can add to StarbaseDB to make the developer experience on SQLite databases better, and personally I think it starts with a better external interface. Provide a frictionless way to get started. Then figuring out

Had no idea this was put on HN today. Author of StarbaseDB here, will get a bug fix for the blog redirection pushed out soon! Thanks for bringing this up.

The Mac app that's referenced is our downloadable Electron application for Mac's. The alternative is to use Outerbase via our website. In terms of serving Outerbase on-prem, it's an enterprise offering we do support.

We are looking into this. Apologies for the issue. Plain IP addresses should work no problem. If it helps to connect and debug together feel free to send me an email at - brayden [at] outerbase [dot] com.

Great question. The three you've listed have their own great use cases as a visual spreadsheet layout for databases. Some of our features that really help us stand out from this particular pack are the fact you can use EZQL in Outerbas

Thanks for the suggestions. For the SQL stuff being displayed, we like that it gives non-technical users an opportunity to learn SQL along the way. Now providing it as an optional UI is a worthy consideration for us to perhaps make. We do h

We are working on providing VPN tunnel connections or VPC-to-VPC connections as well, but it's not quite available today. Thanks for sharing this concern with us!

At the moment we only support hosted databases and nothing from the local machine but we are working on adding support for this really soon! It's been much requested.

Maybe the largest core beneficiary from a tool such as Outerbase are in fact product teams. That's where we know at larger companies pain is felt. We do have a Slack integration that isn't launched YET but is in internal testing t

Our thinking behind BI, we believe, is quite different than how we think Power BI, Looker, and Tableau look at the problem. Today's large tools require in-depth specialized knowledge on the data as well as how to apply it to create das

We hope that it is the interface that you need! To be entirely candid and honest, returning a lot of rows presents problems on our end as well at the moment. It's something we are actively working on improving for large data sets to cr

Hmm I wonder if this is a caching issue. It seems to be working on our part and no data is ever loaded. If you'd be willing to talk through a bit further I'd love to. brayden [at] outerbase [dot] com.

Yes, great question! We do have support for connecting to databases over SSH on our very near term release roadmap. Avoiding exposing databases to the internet is a common theme we hear and is important for us to tackle quickly.

Currently we allow databases to whitelist our IP address and access from anywhere. For internal databases we do offer VPN and on-prem (Dockerized) solutions for our enterprise customers. Private databases that are on localhost we don't

Thanks for the call out here on this bug! We are working on a resolution to this issue right now. This is an issue with our logout function on the frontend not removing the auth token. There is no risk of scope access outside of your machin
