It’s amazing how no one can be frank with him. “Look mark, the CEO doesn’t have to be the presenter. I’m sorry but you just can’t be the face of the company, it’s bad for business. Please, move aside, and get a normal person haircut”.

The video they put out is extremely cringe. The whole “metaverse” thing is cringe. It makes me believe Zuckerberg is completely surrounded by yes-men who never challenge him and only tell him what he likes to hear. He is truly detached fr

I’ve been at Google for a little less than OP, and while I’m also considering leaving, my main reason is sort of the opposite: I’m bored. The whole team is bored. It feels like we’re doing nothing, and have been doing nothing for years. I

Speaking of weird things happening on Facebook… I see a lot of official artist pages (usually artists who have been pretty successful a few years ago but no longer are, mostly rappers for some reason) that post A LOT of random “memes” (mos

I just want to say that I love this. I’m not your target audience, but I think the idea and execution are pretty damn neat and I hope you succeed. I’d try to put some focus on helping users who aren’t ML savvy understand the different algor

Couple of questions from someone who’s never tried Phoenix/Elixir: 1. How does this stack handle non-browser clients, like mobile apps or APIs? 2. Can this scale horizontally? i.e, can you throw in more servers when you need to? Since

Is there a way to see top new Java features since version X? For example my company is stuck at version 9 I believe, and I’d like to see what I’m missing out of at a glance

You forgot the most important question: >Do you need to generate media buzz and mislead investors? I've heard of about 10 local "blockchain" startups and I swear to god this was their #1 reason of using a blockchain (it di

As someone who works for Big Tech outside of the US, it's kind of comical to us foreign workers. From out point of view it seems like Americans are truly obsessed with diversity, or rather being perceived as diverse (PR), to the point

So if I understand correctly, through government subsidization and regulation it is virtually impossible to compete with USPS. What are their incentives to improve their service and reduce their costs (including taxpayer costs)?

Is there any real competition to USPS? Or do they get their check from the government regardless of how poorly they perform? In my own country, the government owned postal service is complete trash. Yeah, it’s almost “free”, but we’re payin

Maybe they should stop wasting their time (and our money) and simply let us decide for ourselves whether or not we want to buy a device?

I really want Supabase to take off. For me, the #1 reason not to go with Firebase was lack of relational DB support, and #2 vendor lock-in.

After just skimming through the landing page, one thing I want to point out: I absolutely love the fact that they simply show me what the product looks like. Often times you have to dig through docs and "features" pages just to ge

Last I checked, DigitalOcean has a "Spaces" feature for file storage, which is compatible with the AWS S3 API (and they even suggest using the AWS client library). I always found it odd that we can easily port apps, databases, etc

Awesome, thanks! Turns out Prisma wasn’t optimizing my queries, I think it has to do with me not using the sub query API and instead querying tables seperately (e.g posts.findMany({ where: { owner: user } }))

I’ve been using Prisma for a while and I quite like it. Best ORM for TypeScript I’ve used. My biggest issue with it is testability. Sure, I can mock the Prisma client in tests with Jest or something, but if I want to test state I pretty mu

Yes, the site is really well written, and I absolutely love its "no bullshit" approach which obviously extends to the product itself (and the CEO, from what I can tell). Signal to noise ratio is great. I wish more companies were l
