CCC is great. I use it rarely, only because I intentionally use Amazon itself as rarely as possible. As a result, 100% of my Amazon shopping is done through CCC, which is great. Were it not for CCC, I'd imagine I'd use Amazon even

I understand the intent, and agree, but Tutanota's blog posts are really low quality. I'm sure there are much better and more in-depth articles we could be reading about this.

I am ecstatic to see Pete's QB Site on HN, it was both a large part of my childhood and responsible for my introduction to programming. Lots of very fond memories there, along with Ted Felix's QBASIC programming tutorial[0]. Pete&

Agreed, something is seriously wrong with this article. Some of the images almost look like they were corrupted, others are very low-quality.

I don't fully agree with your second point. The way iCloud on an iPhone works, users have no chance to encrypt data before uploading it. Most people are only tangentially aware of what data is siphoned automatically by the service. It

What is PG? What is Jessica? If one isn't already immersed in the VC mindset that dominates (and is apparently a significant dynamic of) YC, how is one supposed to parse these articles?

It's hard to lend any more credibility to Troy Hunt's blog post than your typical YouTube shill. The eyes are still rolling. I understand Troy's reasoning is sound, but NordVPN is _still_ the same entity who markets widely on

Wonder what Apple's rationale is for acquiescing to requests for iCloud data while staunchly refusing to unlock physical devices. Could it simply be the idea that data stored on iCloud is Apple's property and not yours, while a ph

Owner of a 4K Sharp "smart" TV here. Menu is indeed incredibly sluggish. My old Zenith from the 90s has better response time, _and_ an integrated VHS player. Can't beat it. The Sharp was the first smart TV I ever purchased. H

There was a batch of Pinebook Pro computers that went out which was badly-QA'd and had issues with the display. You may have gotten one of those. I believe the issue was pretty localized, and if you get in touch with Pine64 they'l
