I used to use Mutt, and I appreciate that some people still love it, but I don't intend to go back to it just for PGP support. If PGP (or something like it) is going to catch on, it has to do so for everybody's MUAs, not just nerd

I should update our docs to say: * If you can get remote code execution in a Go program, use PGP. Otherwise do not.

Whoops, I meant encrypted. Fixed. (Yeah, if it were just signed, that'd be fine.)

I was the one who replied with that, asking him to resend without PGP, for two reasons: 1) both of our MTAs do STARTTLS. And gmail is only TLS. 2) 99% of the PGP-encrypted emails we get to security@golang.org are bogus security reports. Whe

We had configurability in early versions of gofmt but realized it was a mistake and kinda missed the whole point of having a code formatter, so we removed them.

You're confusing concurrency and parallelism. Even with GOMAXPROCS=1 (1 CPU running Go code), it's very liberating to be able to write blocking Go code and not worry about callbacks or async/await and let Go's runtime de

Hi, Camlistore author here. Andrew Gerrand worked with me on Camlistore too and is one of the Upspin authors. The main difference I see is that Camlistore can model POSIX filesystems for backup and FUSE, but that's not its preferred

It was going to be Linux & Mac at least, but Mac support was removed at the final hour due to bugs. Go 1.8 will be Linux-only. Go 1.9 should add Mac support back, and hopefully Windows if the right people have time to work on it.

The background is that we have some official spaces and some unofficial spaces. I thought our subreddit was an official space that we created. It turns out we didn't create it, so it's not ours to delete. I'm now proposing we

I was the one who proposed deleting /r/golang. It is not some official Go or Google position. As much as I used to love Reddit and was addicted to it, my personal position is that Reddit is no longer a trustworthy platform (if it

I was the one who proposed deleting /r/golang. Google Groups is not my preferred alternative by any means. Google Groups is a 1990's webmail interface to crappy but federated SMTP. There is very little to like about it, but a

FWIW, this isn't a new regression on FreeBSD. We also saw these problems on Go 1.6 once we looked at our old build logs. It's just now documented.
