Indeed. I just forgot about them. Also, turns out you can only have one outstanding reservation at a time (so I can't have one all-day massage on my last day) and can't gift them to other employees. Oh well.

See: https://groups.google.com/d/msg/perkeep/Kqvh2dJVmoo/9N4YXAuX... I no longer pay Mathieu to work on it full time, and my time is tempered by 2.5 and 0.5 year old kids. I still use it, but don't

Brad here. I wrote about this when I first joined Google, having noticed the same prior to joining: https://brad.livejournal.com/2409049.html That was my big fear of joining Google, being sucked into the black hole. (Ignore

Have you seen https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=06olHmcJjS0&feature=emb_titl... ? That was 2015 and it's improved a bit since. I've used it in a number of countries with great success, especially reading menus.

Kubernetes was almost written in Java. That it was written in Go instead was motivated in part by Docker choosing Go, which Google wasn't part of.

We have real kitchens too. Saying "micro kitchen" distinguishes it from the big cafes. IIRC, there's some legal definition too: a micro kitchen can't have ice or something. Once it does it's subject to different rul

What's with the "Find Out More on GitHub" suffix on the title? Isn't that implicit in all articles? "Find out more by clicking this link". Mods, please remove.

$10M per year would be closer, actually. (Source: public git logs for all core Go repos in past year, look for google.com or golang.org emails, multiply by typical Google salaries, which you can find on various sites.)

Author here. I just moved this to https://github.com/google/crfs if people want to track that repo instead of Go's build system (which is relatively boring for most people).

Hi, author here. The unnecessary writes I care about are to my cloud VM's small block device, which is I/O limited. The best way to not wait for those is to not do the writes in the first place.
