The long game here seems to be that if you can get new customers to deploy ChromeOS Flex on existing hardware and use cloud based solutions for their software, then when the customers go to refresh the hardware or renew their cloud software

$7T sounds like a lot of money but reading between the lines seems to be the projected total cost for not just chip design and fab but also infrastructure to support such an industry over a bit of time. That seems reasonable to me. It

I was the first to order a Yikes! 400MHz G4 tower from my local Apple reseller when they first came out. I loved this ad campaign! I was also smitten when Apple dropped the speeds on all the SKUs by 50MHz as I had gotten mine before that

Sure but we still have tens of thousands of traffic fatalities every year in the USA and the stats are not decreasing in any meaningful way. What we have done is not working to actually reduce automobile deaths.

Why don't we as a society apply similar safety culture to driving cars and trucks as we do to aviation? MANY more people are harmed or killed by automobiles than by aircraft per person-mile traveled. A small improvement in automobile

I believe the intent matters. If you need a fence and you’re not trying to use the electricity then it is not theft. If your intent is to consume the power then it is theft. Doing this kind of power harvesting off transmission lines is a st

As mentioned, I'm just doing a speed test to show the bottleneck is my fiber line and not the wifi, hence my wifi is giving significantly better performance than was expected by the commenter I replied to.

USB 3.0 host controllers and hubs do not need to consume large amounts of power nor do they need to always be active, if designed well. USB 3.0 has LPM (link power management) and Microsoft wrote up a nice overview: https://lear
