Yes, but what's also interesting is other large IPv4 block holders who aren't governments. Will large public companies start selling off their address space to pad profits in order to appease/please shareholders?

I've not seen in any news reports, nor does this BBC article mention, if the deterioration noted by the previous engineering reports were actually in the part of the building which collapsed or not. If anyone can point to a diagram or

I've read that some companies require inspections of home offices in order to comply with insurance rules, especially around workers compensation. As if you get hurt "on the job" but the job happens in the employee's ow

The paper linked in the ARS article ( https://dl.acm.org/doi/abs/10.1145/3445814.3446723 ) seems to be how they developed it. I find it interesting that they went from C++ to hardware in order to optimize the

You should still change the brake fluid every few years. I don't know what Tesla recommends but most car manufacturers recommend brake fluid flushes every 2-5 years (the Germans generally recommend 2 year intervals, GM generally recom

I've used Linux mostly on IBM/Lenovo ThinkPads and Dell Latitudes. Overall I've had great success. Drivers work, suspend and hibernation work, plugging in monitors just works, wifi works, and battery life is decent enough.

It'd be interesting to see Texas tax deployments of wind and solar within the state but incentivize manufacturing of wind and solar. If oil and gas exports from Texas are going to decline in coming years, having wind and solar exports

That's a very security minded methodology. But I cannot comfortably afford to throw away a phone which is under warranty when it has a hardware issue. The Apple store employee made sure to show me they were executing the erase of my p

I had the secure enclave in my iPhone 8 fail about 6 months after I bought it. Solution was to spend about half an hour on the phone with Apple while they ran remote diagnostics and then take it to an Apple store 30 minutes drive away. 10

In an ideal world, I agree with you. But if you ever try to make a mass market USB device you will quickly learn that the computers which your customers will connect your device to and the cables which your customers will use will greatly

If you want to "build your own" and don't mind some hands-on fun, I strongly suggest looking at using a PC Engines APU2 board and using the Linux distribution of your choice on it (and yes, OpenWRT works fine on them). https

Yes. The interference from USB 3 connections comes due to the 5Gb/s data rate of the super speed transceivers causing interference with 2.4GHz band radio devices. If you downgrade to a USB 2.0 connection you effectively are disabling

Being an outsider to the EU (I'm in the US) it seems like there's a *LOT* more drama around vaccine manufacturing and distribution in Europe than in many other places.

Living in upstate NY, it's rare to see cars more than 15 years old on the road. Metal cars rot out from corrosion to the point where they're not worth fixing after a little over a decade. For example, I used to own a 2005 VW Jet
