Interesting project! I'm curious about how this compares to other tech: - How is data stored internally? - What are the tradeoffs with this implementation? - Do you generate indexes on data as it comes in? - How are nested keys handled

I didn’t quite grok what the offer is. Is it for people who already have a degree and want to have their loan paid off? Or is it for people who want to get a degree?

I'm working on a project that uses the Amazon Ion format to store binary data. I wanted to see the textual representation of the data when debugging, but there wasn't any existing tools.

I don't see EC2 in your architecture diagram. Where are you using EC2? How are you structuring your dynamo tables? Is there one table that is used much more than another?

The only two places where the cold starts will hurt is the API key auth and the JWT auth/posting to kinesis. Plus if it's being called with any kind of decent frequency it won't matter.

It all depends on how much data they're processing. It looks to be mostly a pay-per-use model. I'd say their big cost is Kinesis and potentially API Gateway. Lambda is great for this kind of workload (mostly).

It’s understandable that the benefits don’t immediately seem obvious. We have all been working with REST for such a long time that we forgot what didn’t make sense when we were learning REST. A good way to think about GraphQL is it’s data c

I’m not an expert but I don’t think clouds will affect it. Do clouds prevent you from getting a GPS signal? (I know these satellites are LEO but I don’t think that should matter)

Notable is a great free markdown editor on GitHub. You can import regular markdown or Evernote files. All the files are stored in one directory and are grouped by tags. The tags can be hierarchical if you’re looking for that. Most of the ti

I feel like that top answer has a lot of things wrong with it. The first AWS service was SQS in 2002. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amazon_Web_Services#History The wiki also says that AWS changed direction after a pape

Unfortunately no. As soon as the image is rotated slightly to one side it disables the adversary print out. You can see this in the original paper with the final image. Now, that doesn’t mean that a camouflage couldn’t be created that more

This is cool! It reminds me of that material the protagonist creates in Big Hero 6. At such a small size though, would it be possible to breathe it in?

This is cool! Building a context from many data points is impressive. I could see this being built into phones for sure. If the phone can detect the context with a small amount of battery it opens the phone to a whole lot of applications.

I wonder if there is an enterprise app that does this for you? I can think of plenty of examples at my work where spidering a website and displaying it in a graph would be really cool. Our wiki would be one for sure.
